#scorched is book 3 in the #fanningtheflames series by @sierrahillbooks and @seroseauthor
Liam is born to help people. Between being a fire fighter, helping out friends and family, or teaching a CPR class, he does it all. When his best friend Tucker asks him to help move his sister to her new place he doesn’t hesitate. He’s in awe of this independent woman who is raising a child on her own. Liam spends more time with Trinity and Hailey and forms a bond with both especially when using ASL to communicate. He knows nothing can happen because of a promise he made Tucker. He only has so much restraint when it comes to this woman. Can he keep his hands to himself or will he give into temptation and put a longtime friendship on the line?
Trinity is a young single mother who needed a fresh start. She understands accidental pregnancies happen, but her family made it difficult. She now has a new job in a small town and her own place to raise her daughter. Since her brother Tucker is injured and can’t help, he sends his friend. Trinity sees the boy she once knew and now in front of her is a genuinely wonderful man who’s easy on the eyes. She knows Liam’s friendship with Tucker is important, but he’s sending her mixed signals. Watching him with her daughter melts her heart. But is his friendship enough or does she want that deeper connection that she deserves?
So, I’ll start off with again being but it’s so hard for me to read books sometimes with my kids names! I know Liam is popular but it still feels weird. Moving on, I liked this book. Liam was such a genuine guy that you couldn’t not love him. But man, the amount he brought up Tucker I wanted to slap him. He threw so many mixed signals at Trinity she was getting whiplash. I felt for her when she felt confident to do something but then he made her question her moves. She was strong, hard working and a great mother. This wasn’t my favorite of the series but still enjoyable. Loved seeing the brothers come back for an appearance. Definitely recommend this series.
